Past Events:

Ceilidh and trophy presentation on 12th October

Jo presented the trophies to the winners during the interval from some very energetic dancing, which everyone seem to thoroughly enjoy! Definitely a good cardio workout. Thanks to Nicola for her fabulous organisation of the evening, to Jo and her glamorous assistant Katie for the presentations, and to Sam for organising the engraving of all the trophies. And many thanks to Andrene and Sam for organising the tournaments.

Fukaya Trophy - Saturday 28th September

Congratulations to Rob and Jane on winning the Fukaya Cup, playing a final set against Andrene and Sam. This was held over for a week from the main competition, enjoyed by 6 couples despite a delayed start due to rain, and quite3 a blustery wind. Thanks to Andrene for organising.

Mens doubles - Sunday 15th September

On a rather dull day, the tennis shone as twelve men took to the court for the men doubles, ably organised by Simon. Well done to the winners David Moore and Paul Lewis, having fought off the competition including the runners up Alex and Ian.

Ladies doubles - Saturday 14th September

Given the busy social lives of BTC ladies, only an enticing eight were available to play in this event. However, it was a thoroughly enjoyable morning in lovely sunshine. Each player played 7 rounds with a different partner each time. At the end, Julia had the most games with Carmem and Kathryn tying - but Kathryn had won more rounds so was declared the other winner. Carmem graciously presented the trophy to the 2019 ladies doubles champions Julia and Kathryn!

Floss Slack Tournament - Saturday 31st August

This mixed tournament was thoroughly enjoyed by all who entered, with Kim and Ian pipping Chris and Nicola for the trophy. However, the trophy was absent so a stunt "double" appears in these photos!

Junior Senior tournament - Friday 28th June

The 2019 junior-senior tournament, thrice postponed because of rain, finally took place on a glorious sunlit evening on Friday June 28. Six couples took part in the round robin event. The overall outcome could not have been closer, as it was decided by the final game of the evening. Alex and Mark had championship point on two occasions but Dan and Ian eventually prevailed by the narrowest possible margin of one game.

Spring Cup - Monday 6th May

With warm sun initially and no wind, the competition got off to a good start and came to a fitting end with a very enjoyable  and close final between Krysia and James just edging the win against Nicola and Mick. Congratulations to the winners. And to all who part. Big thanks to Andrene for organising the morning!
